Recommendations for treatment

  • Start rehabilitation during hospital stay
  • Offer rehabilitation six to eight weeks after hospital dismissal
  • A swift start-up of measures to manage patient flow

An international team of experts presents a series of recommendations for the rehabilitation of COVID-19 patients during and after hospitalisation. Because scientific evidence is still lacking, these recommendations are based on consensus and clinical knowledge and experience of the team. Given the large number of rehabilitation candidates that is foreseen, the experts urge countries to take measures quickly in order to manage patient flow.
