- Health benefits do not persist in the long term
- Progress does exist immediately and in the mid-term
- Tele-rehabilitation not superior
Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are not able to retain the health benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) in the long term. Differentiating between outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation and home-based group sessions via tele-rehabilitation does not influence these outcomes. This is concluded by a team of Danish researchers, who had 134 patients training for ten weeks and re-assessed the participant’s condition after one year.
