Surgery offers no added value for people older than 60 years with a dislocated proximal humerus fracture: they recover just as good after conservative treatment as when the fracture is surgically fixed with a Philosplate. This is the conclusion of North-European researchers who compared the recovery of 44 elderly who underwent surgery and 44 elderly who underwent conservative treatment.
