Optimal positioning of the pelvis and sacroiliac joints during stabilisation exercises is important to reduce or prevent low back pain (LBP) and pelvic girdle pain (PGP) after giving birth.
We compared exercises with a pelvic realignment device to evidence-based stabilisation exercises alone. We found that exercising with a pelvic realignment device resulted in a greater reduction in LBP and PGP at 13 weeks after giving birth, with reduced chance of increasing pain after each session.
Therefore, exercises with the pelvic realignment device may have an advantageous effect over conventional stabilisation exercises alone.
