- Short follow up period of six months
- Only after surgery for frozen shoulder more sports participation
- Rehabilitation protocol has not been described extensively
Frequently, orthopaedic surgeons predict a rehabilitation period of six months after shoulder surgery, before return to sports is possible again. However, based on the data of 2261 patients who underwent shoulder surgery by the same surgeon in the Australian St. George hospital, this is not always realistic. In fact, when comparing patients before and after surgery, only patients who underwent surgery for a frozen shoulder did progressed well in a sportive sense: this was the only group to practise sports more often six months after surgery than before surgery.
