Pre and postoperative rehabilitation after ACL surgery

Combining a preoperative and postoperative rehabilitation for patients undergoing an ACL reconstruction

With a vast number of patients undergoing surgical anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction (ACLR) after rupturing their ACL, evidence is limited to guide clinicians as to how to optimally combine surgery and rehabilitation to improve knee function. Therefore, the present study compared preoperative and 2-year postoperative patient reported outcomes (PROs) in patients undergoing progressive preoperative and postoperative rehabilitation compared with usual care.
