Which patients with chronic pain are likely to improve?

Keep your language simple

WHAT'S NEW
  1. Education level and age are crucial for improving knowledge.
  2. Advice: use simpler language for lower educated people.
  3. No influence of levels of pain, fear, depression and self-efficacy.

Chronic pain patients with higher levels of education remember more information about pain than those who ceased their education after high school. This was the conclusion of an Australian study conducted in 55 adults waiting for multidisciplinary pain treatment.
